Every imported or exported item from the UK is assigned a commodity code.

A commodity code is a globally recognised standard that classifies the types of goods or products that are being transported, in order to determine a customs duty rating.

This is essential information which will need to be displayed clearly and correctly on your packages. If you have not declared your goods correctly, your parcel may be held at customs and you may be liable for an additional duty charge or possibly fined.

To look for your commodity code, please check the UK government website; https://www.gov.uk/trade-tariff - where you’ll be able to find the classification for your item. You can also check duty amounts, restrictions on weights and measurements or even apply for a binding 3-year classification for shipping your goods.
